Biotherm

The assortment of Biotherm products at the best prices on Mydutyfree.net

Biotherm is a French skincare company owned by L'Oréal under the Luxury Products division since 1970. The Biotherm brand enjoys significant popularity worldwide. All Biotherm products are innovative products for effective skincare for the face and body. Products for moisturizing and refreshing the skin, as well as anti-aging products, are particularly popular.

A distinctive feature of Biotherm cosmetics is the natural ingredient - volcanic mineral water, adapted to the biological processes of the skin. Pure natural thermal plankton has exceptional biological affinity with our skin. Thanks to it, Biotherm cosmetics protect the skin from the harmful effects of the environment, such as UV radiation, moisturize and cleanse the pores, and also have a regenerating effect.

The brand is widely represented in various countries around the world and is popular among a wide range of consumers seeking quality skincare. Its product range covers a wide range of cosmetic products, including moisturizing creams, cleansing products, anti-aging products, and sun protection products.

The History of the Biotherm Brand

In the 1940s-50s, Dr. Jos Jullien from Jouéyz in Ardèche, France, discovered thermal mineral springs beneath the Pyrenees mountains in the southern part of France, which contained thermal plankton. Dr. Jullien immediately speculated that it was the key to healthy skin and a powerful rejuvenating agent for the skin.

Together with Jeanine Marissal, he studied this plankton to use it in the future for creating a cosmetic formula. As a result of this work, in 1952, under the guidance of Adrian Barthélémy, the owner of the Molitg-les-Bains springs, the Biotherm company was founded. In 1952, three new Biotherm products were released: La Crème Triple-Usage, Biotherm Cure, and Biomains. The moisturizing hand cream Biomains is still available on the market to this day. By 1955, just three years after the company's founding, The New York Times left positive reviews about Biotherm in its article, noting its unique technologies using plankton to create beautiful and well-groomed skin.

In the 1960s, the brand developed several targeted skincare solutions to meet specific needs, including the launch of new Biotherm products: the first sunscreen and the first body modeling product. In 1968, Biotherm introduced Bio-Buste Suractive to the market - its first cream for the décolleté area.

Biotherm was acquired by L'Oréal in 1970.

After the acquisition by L'Oréal, Biotherm established an advanced research center and production plant in the heart of Monaco. Princess Grace of Monaco inaugurated the brand's new seven-story headquarters in the principality.

In 1982, Biotherm expressed its love for water by sponsoring the French sailor Florence Arthaud. Eight years later, she became the first woman to win this grueling race. Florence Arthaud is an example of strong women in Biotherm's history: she made her first transatlantic journey when she was just 18 years old.

In 1985, Biotherm became the first cosmetics brand to develop a premium skincare line for men. To this day, Biotherm Homme remains the number one brand in the world for premium men's skincare.

1994 brought new discoveries and advancements in plankton technology. After 8 years of research, thanks to a unique and natural fermentation process developed by the company's biologists, the most active extract for the skin - the powerful natural skin function activator - was extracted from Life Plankton.

Life Plankton™ is 100% natural, 100% renewable, and 100% biodegradable.

In 2006, researchers from Stanford University supported the use of pure thermal plankton in Biotherm formulas.

In 2012, Biotherm, in collaboration with the Mission Blue organization, created the Biotherm Water Lover, a charitable program aimed at protecting water worldwide. Water has been at the core of Biotherm's DNA since the brand's inception in 1952. The Biotherm Water Lovers program aimed to raise consumer awareness about the threat of ocean pollution by plastic. By collaborating with world-class experts and non-governmental organizations such as Mission Blue, Tara Ocean Foundation, and Surfrider Foundation Europe, Water Lovers supported efforts to preserve threatened aquatic territories.

In 2021, Biotherm became the principal executive partner of the Oceanographic Institute of Monaco. The brand's financial support contributes to Ocean's actions in the interests of the oceans, mobilizing a global network of experts and decision-makers, as well as raising public awareness of the urgent need for environmental protection of the oceans today.
